The export volume of PVC powder in September decreased month on month. According to customs data, the export volume of PVC suspension Resin in September was 224300 tons, a decrease of 16.68% month on month and a year-on-year increase of 104.61%. The cumulative export volume from January to September was 1.7656 million tons, an increase of 6.47% compared to the same period last year, and a year-on-year increase from a decrease.
From the export trend this year, the export volume from January to February was at a high level year-on-year, mainly due to the strong macroeconomic expectations that supported the rebound in the domestic PVC Resin market since December last year, and the large amount of hoarding in overseas markets such as India has a certain relationship. After the year, as the domestic PVC market returned to fundamentals and prices fell again, the enthusiasm for overseas purchases gradually weakened. The export volume gradually declined from March to April, and slightly rebounded from May to June, but it is still significantly lower than the same period last year. From July to August, export orders increased again due to a rebound in the domestic market and an increase in overseas purchasing enthusiasm. On the other hand, there were more centralized maintenance of overseas devices such as the United States, and restocking in Southeast Asia and India increased. This also led to a significant year-on-year increase in exports from August to September. But since September, export orders have weakened again, and it wasn't until late October that there was a slight improvement in orders, but it was weaker than the previous two.
There is little change in export destinations in September
From the perspective of export trading partners, there was little change in the export destinations of PVC suspension resin in September, mainly concentrated in South Asia, Africa, Central Asia, Southeast Asia, and other regions. The top five export destinations are India, Thailand, Vietnam, Uzbekistan, and Egypt, with a total export volume of 146900 tons, accounting for 65.47% of the total export volume.
Exports to India decreased month on month
The overseas market mainly focuses on the Indian market. After a large number of purchases from December last year to January this year, the purchasing enthusiasm in the Indian market weakened in the following months, especially with a significant decrease in procurement volume from the Chinese market. However, it rebounded again from June to August. In September, with the gradual delivery of preliminary orders, the volume of exports to India decreased month on month.
The slight decrease in export volume in September compared to the previous month was mainly due to the concentration of orders from July to August, which were mainly delivered in August. With the decrease in delivery volume and the significant decline in new orders received in September, the actual delivery volume in September decreased compared to the previous month, while the year-on-year increase was still significant. Looking ahead to October, it is expected that export delivery will continue to decline.
Export delivery volume may continue to decline in October
The majority of deliveries in October were orders received in September. Based on previous orders received, the majority of bulk orders received from July to August were already delivered in August to September, while new orders received in September were relatively poor. This situation persisted until mid October, when domestic PVC manufacturers' export orders improved again. However, most orders received in late October were concentrated in November and December. So overall, it is expected that the export delivery volume in October will further decrease compared to September, and there may be a rebound in export volume in November.
