Description Of LABSA 96%:

Pure Linear Alkyl Benzene Sulfonic Acid is a colorless needle shaped or leaf shaped crystal. Extremely soluble in water and ethanol, insoluble in ether and carbon disulfide, slightly soluble in benzene. The melting point of anhydrous substances is 50-51 ℃, and those containing 1.5 molecules of crystalline water have a melting point of 43-44 ℃. Boiling point 137 ℃. Alkylbenzenesulfonic acid belongs to the category of strong acids, has high viscosity, is not volatile, and is not soluble in general organic solvents. However, it is soluble in water and has strong water absorption properties. Benzene Sulfonic Acid forms clusters when it encounters a small amount of water, and further addition of water completely dissolves. Alkyl Benzene Sulfonic Acid produced in industrial production often appears as a brown or brownish red viscous liquid due to impurities in the raw materials and the products of sulfonation side reactions.
